How was your weekend? I had a good one mostly spent at home. Here are a few things from my weekend:
We got started on the cardboard challenge and the kids had lots of fun just making all sorts of stuff. They didn't have a plan but just kept cutting and sticking and deciding along the way. One son made a bear and then stuck it on a board which became a make-believe raft. He hasn't finished yet so I'm not sure what it will turn into next. I did make a set of 5 stones and will show you how in a DIY post coming up tomorrow. Watch out for it!
2. Read this Washington Post article by Tracy Grant that was published
in the Straits Times today. It was about how parents should think twice about what they post about their kids. Definitely something worth pondering in this day and age...
3. My Grandma
We celebrated my grandma's birthday on Saturday. She is a really special lady and she just turned 82. She took care of my sister and me when we were young and I loved listening to her wartime stories. During my university days, I used to watch korean dramas with her and we would cry our eyes out. I miss spending time with her. Hope to find some time to bring her out to lunch soon.
4. Restaurant Week
runs from 7-14 October this year and I am hoping to take advantage of the offers to try a few new restaurants. Do you have any favourite places that you would recommend?
Each weekend, I try to declutter a little bit of the house. This weekend, I managed to clear out a shelf of books that the kids probably won't miss. I also found a few books that I didn't realise we had! In fact, it turns out we already have a copy of Alexander and the Wind Up Mouse which you can win by entering a special giveaway by Adora from The Gingerbread Mum. (Giveaway ends on 1 October 2012 and details can be found here.) I hope one of you wins it. It is such a lovely book. This week, i have a post about chocolate, a FREE gift tag printable and some cooking tips waiting for you.
Have a happy Monday!
