I had a lot of fun making up the little goodies for the goodie bag this year. I generally like choosing items that keep with the theme and my theory is a little of everything.
So I tried to include something sweet (lollipop, cookie), something fun (flying soldier & the soldier's handbook) plus a couple of sweet mementos (pin, roundclip and magnet). Oh and each kid went home with a t shirt too!
My sons really liked "The Soldier's Handbook" which was just an activity sheet that I created. I used illustrator for this. I also included a set of crayons that I had scored at a shop that had a closing down sale.
Finally, I made badges to give out as prizes for the games.
The kids were awarded the fitness badge when they finished the obstacle course.
These mimic the actual badges that real army soldiers get and the kids were excited to pin them on right away.
The marksmanship badge was meant to be given out after a game where the kids had to try shooting plastic army soldiers using a water gun. But we didn't manage to play that game so I just gave it out with the goodie bags.
So which was your favourite goodie?
