This is our final post on Beauty and today, I have a few moms who took time to share their beauty tip.
1. Focus on Your Eyebrows
Evelyn Tan Rogers of The Bottoms Up blog (http://thebottomsupblog.com) says,"If you’re fuss free and anti-makeup like I am (mostly because I'm clueless about putting it on well), having your eyebrows trimmed and shaped is probably one of the best ways to neaten or brighten up your look."
2. Wear Mascara
Regina of MummyMoo (http://www.mummymoo.com) says: "If I have to choose one make-up item which is an absolute necessity, it would have to be a good mascara. Even with a bare face, using a mascara instantly opens up your eyes and avoids you looking like you just got out of bed (even if you did!)"
3. Curl your Lashes
Rachel Teo of Catch 40 Winks (http://www.catch-fortywinks.com) says, "If you are really uncomfortable with using makeup, get an eyelash curler and lip gloss. Curling your lashes will open up your eyes even when you don't use mascara. You can purchase lip gloss from pharmacies, which not only keep your lips soft and prevent them from chapping but also has a subtle reddish/pink glow over your lips."
4. Moisturise everywhere
Amie Chen of Mamamie's Thots (http://www.mamamiethots.com) says, "Moisturiser & eye cream is a must after I have cleansed my face with facial cleanser. Due to external elements, our skin ages faster. I apply moisturiser on my face twice a day on my face so that it feels supple & less tight. I also try to apply moisturiser on my body after the shower when my skin pores are open because that is the best time for our skin to absorb the moisture. Our eyes are very delicate area as well, I like to invest in a good eye cream to reduce wrinkles & dark eye circles.
5. Exfoliate and Hydrate using Face Masks
Alicia Tan of Beanie 'N' Us (http://www.beanienus.blogspot.com) says, "Exfoliate weekly. This removes dead skin cells and leaves your skin brighter and smoother. I also use sunblock on my face daily because I am prone to freckles. I make it a habit to apply a face mask twice a week too - I alternate between my deep cleansing mask with a hydrating one. Because I sleep in an airconditioned room so at times I use a leave-on hydrating mask instead (the cream type which dries up) which I would rinse off the next day. Lastly, do not forget to mask and exfoliate your neck area too!"
6. Use BB Cream
Angeline of Simply Mommie (http://www.simplymommie.com) says, "I usually go out with BB cream applied on my face. I just can't seem to get eye makeup right and I don't like gloss or lipstick on lips. Why I absolutely love BB cream is that you can cover dark eye circles really well, even better than concealer. Apply a few coats if necessary, patting the cream gently into your skin to make sure it's absorbed in between coats. BB cream makes skin look flawless and gives me a glow which I need!
7. Maintain Healthy Skin
Jean of Jean Stitch (http://jeanstitch.wordpress.com) says: "Each day before I jump into the shower, I cleanse my face with cleansing water to remove oil and dirt before using the cleanser. Wash, clean and moisturise. I also exfoliate once a week to clean my pores. By ensuring that my skin is healthy and radiant, I only apply eye cream and draw my brows before I leave the house.
8. Remove Dead Skin
Ai Sakura of Sakura Haruka (http://www.sakuraharuka.com) says: "I absolutely adore my Clarisonic Skincare Brush. It is so simple to use and helps me to remove the dead skin, dirt and oil trapped in my pores which normal cleansing can't remove all the time. I also go for a monthly facial to thoroughly cleanse my skin with exfoliation, extraction, massage and facial masks. It serves as a little pampering me-time as well!
My personal beauty tip would be to sleep well. I find that if I have enough sleep, I generally take care of myself better too. It has been harder to sleep lots lately but I hope to catch up this weekend!
p/s Friday is a public holiday in Singapore and so I will be back on Monday with a new theme! See you then!
