As the season comes round, it is a great time to plan small and meaningful ways to say thanks to those around us. I chanced upon these chalkboard ornaments which seemed like a simple way to personalise a gift for someone. They would also make great gift tags.
Of course, you could find wooden circles and paint them with chalkboard paint but I honestly don't think it would be a lot cheaper and really worth the effort. So skip the DIY, buy the ornaments and just let your kid draw on them. It really is that easy.

I gave my son the wooden ornaments and told him to draw something on them. He really loves drawing so this was a task that he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't give him any guidance except for the last one that he drew (the one on the right). Can you guess what that one is?
If you are making small gifts for friends at school, I would wrap them up with a piece of white chalk and a little christmas wish. I am sure a gift like this will put a smile on any young child.
