Holidays with the kids are such special times. Tiring but worth it cos of all the memories that you come back with. Sometimes though, kids don't seem to recall much of the holidays. I find that it helps to have photos for them to look at so it jogs their memories.
This year, we travelled to Kuala Lumpur in September and brought the kids to Kidzania. It was a lovely time and we took lots of lovely photos of the kids at play. I wanted to display these photos so the kids could see them and remember those special times.
I came up with the idea of a photo cube ornament. I love that I could use 5 sides of the cube and add in words to date the memories. In the end, I chose photos of each child and made two cubes so that one day, they could take them with them to their new home if they ever wanted to.
- wooden block :: daiso
- double sided tape :: stationery store
- hook :: diy store
- photos :: printed at home (resized using Adobe Photoshop)
And there you have it. It doesn't take long and would also make a nice gift for someone. Perhaps a new baby or grandparents. I hope to make one for each of our holidays. Now that is a fun craft project for 2013.
* You also could coat the cube with a layer of modpodge to give it a protective finish.
