Christmas is just 6 days away and today, I am sharing the perfect dessert for your christmas party. Don't worry, I do know Christmas isn't about spiderman :)
But here is a look at the red velvet and blue (vanilla ice cream) cupcakes that I made for my son's spiderman party a few weeks ago. I was given clear instructions to order an ice cream cake but unfortunately, spiderman is not one of the designs that swensens carries.
So I decided to try my hand at making ice cream cupcakes. Thankfully, it worked and the birthday boy was very pleased.
For Christmas, try making your own
red velvet and white (vanilla ice cream) cupcakes
to surprise your guests.
It can be made in advance and requires little work when it comes to time to serve.
Step 1 : I used this recipe which worked like a dream and baked cupcakes to the halfway mark.
Step 2 : To prepare the ice cream for spreading onto the cupcakes, I used a mixer for this. If you don't have a mixer, you can simply make red velvet and white vanilla ice cream cupcakes. Just wait for the ice cream to soften and spread it onto each cupcake.
Serve straight out of the fridge. These ice cream cupcakes don't transport so well as they tend to melt quickly. So make sure you either use an ice box or you have time to chill them in the fridge when you arrive.
