Are you a big romantic at heart? Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in a big way?
Well, I don't have any big plans. The husband and I will have breakfast together today because he happens to be on leave and that will be a lovely treat. I am very thankful for our love and for him in my life but I don't expect or want him to buy me flowers or expensive jewellery. Honestly, at this stage of life where the children are young, I think I most appreciate acts of service. Yesterday, he woke up early to bring the kids to school which meant that I could sleep in which is such a treat! That truly meant more to me than flowers.
So today, I prefer to invest in small gestures that shout love to those around me. I have hidden the mini photo postcards in their wallets and I also made these heart-shaped flower arrangements (pictured above). They will go to my mum and my sisters as well as my son's teachers. Just a small gesture to send some love their way on this day. Are you doing anything today to spread some love?
Miniature Floral Arrangements
- floral sponge
- flower cutter
- one bunch of wax flowers
- foil cases
1. I cut floral sponge into a heart shape and placed it into a heart-shaped foil case.
2. Wet the sponge.
3. Trim the flowers and insert into the sponge.
4. Try to keep the flowers around the same height.
p.s. If you can't find heart-shaped foil cases, you can try using the round ones that are sold at SKP. This would make a nice arrangement for a teacher/colleague and should last a couple of days.
