Hope you had a good weekend. We were out for muchof it so I am looking forward to more time at home this week. Here are some snapshots:
1. Reading Time
On Friday afternoon, I decided to take some time to read quietly. I knew we had a busy weekend ahead with two birthday parties scheduled and was glad that I did.
2. The Soccer Party
My older son was invited to a soccer party which is really the rage at the moment. The boys get to run around in a cage (futsal) and then have food and drink after. Quite the perfect party theme for a party for boys.
3. The Carnival Party
In the afternoon, I accompanied my younger son to a carnival party. There was face painting, popcorn, candy floss, balloon sculpting and a bouncy castle to boot. It took my son a little less than 5 minutes to finish the candy floss that he was given. Much of his time was spent bouncing in the bouncy castle and running around with his friends which he truly enjoyed. I'm glad that I also got the chance to chat with a few mums too. I find that I tend to talk to the mums who have boys because those are the kids that my kids play with. Do you find yourself doing that? All in all, I am glad he had fun but I was pretty exhausted by the end of the day and went straight to bed once we got home.
4. Morning Walk
On Sunday morning, we decided to head out for a walk. We ended up at the Henderson Waves and it was a lovely day to be out. I brought my camera and spotted this spider. It was huge and quite the highlight of my morning. Having boys has certainly changed me, I definitely wouldn't have been this excited about spotting a spider in the past! : )
5. Sunday Lunch
During lunch, I decided to order a coconut drink because I knew my younger son hadn't tried it and he loves to try new things. He didn't like the first taste but when he saw me enjoying it, he was happy to give it a second try. And by the third try, he was licking his lips. I love introducing new things to the kids and seeing them embrace it. Do you find it easy to introduce your kids to new tastes?
p.s Easter is coming up and I hope to get started on a couple of Easter posts soon. Stay tuned.
