Easter arrives early this year. Good Friday falls on the 29 March and it is about two weeks away. So early this week, I took out our box of easter decorations and have been slowly taking things out. I took out a easter egg wreath to hang on the door and our set of resurrection eggs.
Today, I hung up the colourful paper bunting that you see behind the ballon bunting. I made them for a friend's wedding a few years ago and I love bringing them out during easter to cheer up the mood.
I also decided to make a new easter bunting and I ended up making a washi balloon bunting.
I love how washi tape comes in such a varied amount of colours which is great for putting us in the mood for Easter.
Although I made the balloon bunting for easter, I think it would be a lovely idea for a birthday party or any party at all. Spell out someone's name or happy birthday or congratulations! It's a lot of fun and very special indeed.
WASHI TAPE BALLOON BUNTING
Here are the materials that you will need:
- tracing paper
- washi tape
- twine or ribbon
1. Stick pieces of washi tape on the tracing paper (layer them on top of each other as this will make the removal later, slightly easier).
2. Trace the alphabet shape on the back of the tracing paper (in reverse) and cut them out.
3. Gently peel the washi tape off the tracing paper (starting with the tape that you stuck first). If you layered it, you should be able to remove it in a single piece. Stick the Washi Tape Alphabet onto the balloon.
4. Hang them up to display.
It took me about 30 mins to complete this project. Hope you have fun making your own washi tape alphabets. I think you could do so much more with them.
