Over the weekend, I threw my sister a bridal shower. We sipped on tea, donned floral crowns and shared stories about wedding rings. It was kinda reminiscent of the days when we were flower girls and I can tell you, we walked down the aisle numerous times. However this time, it was in preparation for my sister's turn to walk down that aisle no longer as a flower girl but as a bride.
As I set to plan her bridal shower, I chose to focus on details that would create the maximum effect. In the past, I used to enjoy embellishing an event with little details that sometimes would take a long time to execute. However, now that I am a mum of two, I have much less time on my hands and I am trying hard to use it well.
The special floral tiaras were made in pink and lilac for the guests and white for the bride-to-be. I made them the night before and kept them in an air-conditioned room the night before. If you are interested to know how to make these, do let me know in the comments.
Each guest also went home with a white cardboard suitcase packed with little goodies. A sakura-scented marshmallow and a green tea-flavoured marshmallow (both from Muji) as well as white tic tacs to match the colour theme, a pair of gold love rings and a handmade bird paper clip.
It was such fun hanging out with my sister's friends for the afternoon, especially with some whom I have known since we were in secondary school. I really can't believe my sister will be getting married in a few weeks. She is such a dear sister to me and I am so thankful that she has always been there for me. I can't wait to celebrate her big day with her.
p.s. If you have a bridal shower party that you would like to share with others here on the blog, do drop me a note. I would love to hear from you.
p.p.s. Sorry that I missed a DIY post last week! Just to let you know that I am currently working on Father's Day and June holiday posts so I may deviate from my normal blogging schedule slightly during the weeks ahead. Also, I would be keen to know which blog series do you enjoy the most on my blog? I am doing a little springcleaning and would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance.
