A month or so ago, some of my blogging friends were talking about the Singapore Blog Awards. So I decided to check it out. There were so many categories and so many blogs out there, I wasn't sure there was any point for me to enter. And even if I did decide to register my tiny blog, I wasn't sure if I really wanted all that attention. Honestly, blogging quietly in this little corner of mine felt pretty comfortable. I was making new friends and creating things that I loved.
But I love to dream big dreams.
Dreams of ways in which this little blog can grow.
And in a small crumpled notebook, I have stashed away loads of DIY ideas that I would love to share with you if only I had more time.
So I chatted to my friends and I prayed. I figured that I was just scared and this was another step towards putting myself out there.
Needless to say, you now know, I bit the bullet and registered my blog.
And yes, I found out yesterday that my blog was shortlisted as one of the top 10 finalists in the lifestyle category. Woo hoo!
I am still reeling a little from the surprise of being shortlisted as a finalist.
I don't think it has totally sunk in but I must say that I feel very thankful.
Thankful for all of you who read my blog.
Thankful for all of you who try my quirky DIY ideas.
Thankful for the new friends and this journey that my blog has brought me on.
I think it is a long shot for me to win because I am really new to the blog world.
But hey, I am definitely giving it my best shot.
So if you have enjoyed my blog at all during the past year, please would you vote for my blog? You can vote once per day until 23 June.
If you plan to vote, here are some tips:
- anyone can vote, even if you are not singaporean.
- you will receive an email to activate your account. Do check the trash box in case your account thinks it is spam. It has happened to a few people.
- do you know that you can vote once everyday? That means you can vote 28 times if you really love me a lot (That's you, dear husband)!
Anyway, before I end, I just want to say that I really appreciate you reading my blog. A blog is nothing without its readers and I hope to hear from you during the year ahead. Together, I hope that we can make this blog a fun place to share and create. So do leave comments here, on instagram or on facebook. I read all comments and try to reply to all of them. Thanks for journeying with me.
p.s. If you are new to my blog, here is a quick introduction to Scissors Paper Stone.
My name is Jasmine and I am passionate about creativity. I love making things with my hands so you will find simple DIY craft ideas that anyone can make. There is so much creativity around the globe so I started Creativity Spotlight to inspire others. Also, to make life easier and a lot more fun, I created a series called Singapore Secrets with tips on where to find craft supplies and tips for living in Singapore. Finally, I occasionally share my thoughts on nurturing creativity. That pretty much sums up my blog. Have a browse around and I do hope that you will enjoy your visit.
