We are in Los Angeles at the moment visiting my sister and hanging out with her new baby. It isn't our first visit to LA so I decided to take it easy and skip the tourist attractions. So we headed to The Last Bookstore (yes, that is the actual name) which is not just the ideal place to search for a rare book or vinyl record but has gorgeous displays and comfy leather armchairs for browsing books.
I am a real book lover and it was such a joy to visit. The displays were fun to photograph and made the place feel like an absolute book wonderland. The bookstore is housed on two levels and all books on the upper level are priced at $1. Books on the lower level were not pricey either. We found old magazines about dinosaurs that were perfect for my dino-crazy son. There were magic treehouse books that we have never seen at our library for $2 as well as a couple of other books.
I didn't get anything for myself because I read mostly on the kindle these days but I really enjoyed flipping through books and checking out their amazing vinyl record selection. After much deliberation, I decided not to get any and to stick with my iPod which is really the most practical way of listening to music at the moment.
Anyway, here are more photos of the Last Bookstore. I hope you enjoy them.

p.s. While walking to the Last Bookstore, we passed by Big Man Bakes, famous for their cupcakes so we stopped by to pick up a few on our way back. I'll tell you more about them soon.
