It's been a while since I poured my heart out over here. The truth is that I have been moving into a new home and you know how people say that it is one of the most stressful things that you can do in your life. Well, I can now confirm that it is true. Coupled with everyday life, I have just felt overwhelmed at times. Every few days, I misplace something and it can be frustrating. I'm constantly searching for things. Argh! So I am slowly working on ordering my life and things are getting better but I hope you will understand why I have been a little silent.
But one thing that has helped me through the past 6 months has been this new bunch of friends that I have made online. We rarely meet in person but we chat online frequently. The support that these women have given me has been immeasurable. Sometimes we talk about frivolous stuff, often things related to our kids but sometimes, we go deeper and end up praying for one another too.
Then recently on a whim, I suggested that we start a blog together on family travel. We all love our families and travelling with them has been one way which helps us bond and make memories. Everyone was game and we were really excited.
I told them though that I didn't want this to be my blog. I wanted it to be OURS. I wanted to see what we could come up with together.
So it has been that way. Everyone has chipped in in different ways using their own skill sets and as time avails.
The initial days were a little crazy but a whole lot of fun too. Everyone was buzzing with ideas but we are also incredibly busy mums and bloggers. Keeping a blog running and your household is not an easy task. I ended up working while on holiday in Australia while my kids and the husband slept. Sometimes, I hid in my bed and chatted with my fellow blogmates. Sometimes I tapped on my ipad while sitting on the toilet floor (so as not to awaken the husband and kids). The life of a blogger is really not all that glamourous.
But working as a group has been really wonderful. Everyone has their own special gifts that they contribute to the group and we try to help each other out when we can. I guess, it helps that we are friends, first and foremost.
So you can imagine our faces when petite travellers made it into the Singapore Blog Awards as finalists in the Best New Blog category. It's a real encouragement to us and a milestone!
We couldn't let it go by without doing something fun. So we agreed to a virtual ice cream party.
Meeting up in person isn't easy for all of us due to our busy lives but we thought we would throw a virtual ice cream party to share this special moment. If you are on instagram, check out the hashtag #icecreamforpetitetravellers and if you want to join in, snap a shot of your ice cream and share it with us online. Don't forget to add the hashtag so we can see it.
And of course, if you would like to vote, we would be ever so grateful. It takes just 5 minutes and after the first sign in, you just need to click on one button to vote.

You can find us on instagram @petitetravellers sharing sweet holiday shots and the occasional ice cream. Oh and did you try to guess which ice cream was mine? It's my favourite kind - mint ice cream with a new twist, it had oreos instead of chocolate chips. I highly recommend it.
