Hi! It's just 10 days to the Lunar New Year and I am still trying to get into the mood. How about you? Have you decorated the house? Bought New Year clothes? I have a confession. I haven't done anything yet!
Well, this year, I am in the mood for pink. I hope to re-use some pink pom poms that were given to me by a friend who recently used them for her wedding. Also possibly pull out the sakura flowers that I have in hidden away in storage. I hope to buy some flowers.
For those of you who might still have Christmas decorations up, I think you will love this simple decor idea. Simply add a touch of Chinese to your existing decor and it can stay up for a little longer.
My friend, Bena did this last year and I love how everything turned out. So if you are pressed for time (and who isn't), think creatively and look around the house. I love her clever use of angbaos and of course the chinese knots! You can find them in a range of colors at Chinatown. I think I might head there to pick up a few :)
Oh and if you have some time on your hands, you might want to try this paper cherry blossom DIY from Evelyn at the bottomsup blog. I love the look!
