art prints - Love Builds

Hi there!

It's been a busy week with lots of thoughts swirling around in my head. I've also been making an effort to hang out with the boys and enjoy the little moments that we have.

Here are some things that I would like to share with you from my week.

1. Something we Made :

In anticipation of the F1 race this weekend, we built this track using washi tape.

2. Something to Download :

I also downloaded the Singapore GP app which has loads of info about the drivers and their teams. With all that info at my finger tips, I felt kinda smug. Very useful app.

3. Something to Read :

My friend, June shared this article about parenting boys on facebook which was funny and helpful. I especially liked his advice about caveman talk. I definitely need to loosen up and not expect hugely deep conversations all the time.

4. Something to Ponder :

This mummy shared about allowing her child to fail. What do you think? Would you let your child fail?

5. Something to Watch :

Got a moment? Watch this Taylor Swift song that was co-written by her and the mother of a child who passed away from cancer. Evelyn shared this sad story with me and you can read the full story here.

Finally, I just want to share a story from this week :

It was pouring on Thursday and I love the rain especially when we are indoors.

The kids had just come home and I was bringing the bags into the house.

When I was done, I went to check on my younger son.

Lo and behold, I found him outside dancing in the rain.

When he saw me, he ran to me with a cheeky look on his face and expected me to reprimand him.

But I stopped for a moment and looked at him.

Then I smiled.

I remembered the joy of dancing in the rain once. A long time ago.

The thrill of getting wet when everyone struggles to keep dry.

Throwing abandonment to what is viewed to be the norm.

Cos honestly, it is just water.

I told him to go ahead.

He looked at me.

A huge smile spread across on his face and he headed back out into the rain.

When he was done, I showered him and dressed him.

He sat on my lap and I asked him, "Was it fun?"

He grinned, said, "Yes!" and ran off to play.

It was a small moment. Unplanned but truly special.

Sometimes it is truly the little things that matter.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you back here on Monday!
